At Crane Family Dentistry, we want your dental experience to be calm and comfortable. That’s why we offer the option of Nitrous Oxide sedation during your visit.
Nitrous oxide is an effective and safe gas, mixed with oxygen, inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose. Sometimes called “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is intended to aid the patient to feel calm and comfortable. It is not designed to cause you to sleep. You will be able to respond and hear your dentist’s questions and requests while nitrous oxide is administered. You may experience light-headedness or a tingling in your limbs and your arms and legs may start to feel heavy. This is a normal effect of the gas. Simply focus on breathing normally through your nose, and within a few short minutes you will feel the relaxing effects of the nitrous oxide. The sedation will soon wear off after the mask is removed.
If you’re feeling anxious about your dental procedure, talk to the staff at Crane Family Dentistry about nitrous oxide sedation. We look forward to providing you with a comfortable treatment by offering nitrous oxide sedation to help you relax and be calm throughout your procedure.
